At Purumutso, we believe in celebrating small steps — because they’re the building blocks of big dreams.
This week, one of those small but powerful steps came full circle: we were proud to see our fresh papayas being loaded onto a delivery truck destined for a valued customer, Picasso, who placed an order for 200kg of sweet, ripe fruit.
But the story behind the sale is just as sweet.
How It Happened
Sometimes, the best connections are born in the most unexpected moments. While waiting at a medical centre for their daughter to finish a routine procedure, the Purumutso co-founders spotted a nearby outlet that caught their attention. The store had an active WhatsApp group and looked like it could be open to new suppliers.
With curiosity and courage, they walked in and simply asked:
“Would you be interested in paw paws from a local grower?”
The rest is history.
From that encounter, a fruitful relationship was born — all thanks to a WhatsApp advert, a timely conversation, and a willingness to act.
Why This Matters
This wasn’t a huge export or a record-breaking deal. But it was real. It showed that:
- Local markets are open to Zimbabwean-grown wholesome fruit
- Social media platforms like WhatsApp work when used with intent
- Every delivery, no matter the size, is a win for the farmer, the buyer, and the community
It’s one more reason we say: More Fruits. More Days. More Stories.
What’s Next?
We’re growing a network — one seedling, one sale, and one handshake at a time. If you’re a buyer looking for quality fruit or a farmer hoping to connect to the right markets, we’d love to walk with you.
